Just One Thing can change your city.
Ending hunger is a formidable challenge, but it’s something we can achieve if we work together as a community. If everyone in Southern Nevada did just one thing – no matter how small – to help provide food to the food-insecure, we could change the face of our city forever.
We’re always looking for great new ideas, and for great stories of how people like you are making hunger a thing of the past. Let your voice be heard! Tell us just one thing you’re doing to improve the lives of others in your neighborhood. We’ll post it here and share it with others like you who are making a world of difference in our city.
If you would like to make a donation as your “Just One Thing” to help Three Square end hunger in Nevada, please click here.
Just One Thing is sponsored in part by the Las Vegas chapter of the Cornell Alumni Association and the students of Foothill High School.

“I’m going to volunteer my time at Three Square at least once a month. And before I go in I’ll walk around the neighborhood and collect food donations to bring with me. This way my whole neighborhood will understand the importance of helping feed hungry children, seniors and families.”

“My one thing is to empty my pantry each month and bring food that has not been touched, opened, or even remembered to either a local shelter, or center around town. Doing something this small, might not put a dent in hunger in Clark County, but it will make a difference in someone’s life. ”

“My “One Thing” has been helping to organize a Peanut Butter and Tuna Fish food drive at my school. Sound gross? Well, it is, but those two items are the ones food banks need the most. By deciding to participate in the Just One Thing campaign, my school and I have helped make a difference in eradicating hunger in the valley.”

“This morning (1-3-09), my husband and I and a few of our friends in the biker community made a visit to the Three Square facility on Jones here in Las Vegas to drop of donations of food and take a personal tour w/Ms. Erica Thompson. It was a wonderful time and we are all so proud to have been able to do this ‘Just One Thing’ and will be repeating our efforts today in the very near future.”

“I have created a business to enrich my clients, their business, and their surrounding community. My clients are mandated to have at least one charity or foundation in which they support. I promote and market social events, fundraisers, and industry mixers. At the earnings of these events we donate 30% of the proceeds. I desire to be a part of this miraculous new establishment to help end hunger with JUST ONE THING. I am a college student seeking to achieve my Associates in Business Management. My Final Paper was on Poverty and Children in the United States. This is a sad reality! All we really want for our children to do is enjoy the “Triple L Factor,” LEARN, LOVE, and LAUGH! I plan to hold an event in the future to donate to THREE SQUARE! I thank you for the opportunity to express my word, but I seek to do JUST ONE THING! ”

“Maureen Three Square has helped me through a heart wrenching, challenging year. President Obama asked us to help each other, family, friends, neighbors, and because of my neighbors, my family and I still have a roof over our heads. Because of the Community Food Banks distributed by Three Square and the Food Stamp Program in Las Vegas we have never gone without food. My “Just One Thing” is to cook for my Senior neighbors. It’s not much, but my neighbors love the meals I give them at least twice a week and it makes me feel so good. I also clean my cupboards out once a month, bag up the items we don’t use and pass them on to a needy family. Thank you Three Square and thanks to all of you that donate to the Three Square Program you have made such a difference in the Las Vegas community. If you can volunteer at Three Square. If you can’t try to help a neighbor.”
