Can I collect donations for the "BackPack for Kids" Program?
All of the product for our "BackPack for Kids" Program is purchased so we cannot guarantee that the items you collect will go to this program, but roughly 40% of our agencies' clientele are children and your donations will greatly benefit their food pantry.

Do you have collection containers?
Yes! We have 55-gallon food drive containers that stand about four feet tall and two feet across. We also have a limited quantity of medium sized storage boxes provided by StorageOne. Barrels are available for pick up at Three Square at your earliest convenience once you've registered your food drive or you can request delivery. Boxes are available for pick up at Three Square only and cannot be delivered. Each food drive is limited to request up to 15 boxes - if you do not need 15 boxes please be considerate of other food drives and only request and take what you need. You may opt to receive boxes instead of food drive barrels, however you cannot receive both. Food drive registration forms should be submitted no later than two weeks before the date you would like to pick up your boxes or have your barrels delivered so that we have adequate time to process your request.
*Please note, because of the high volume of requests during the holiday season, we encourage you to plan ahead to use alternate collection receptacles in the case that boxes and barrels are not available.
Is there a limit on how many collection containers I can receive?
Yes. It is not unusual for us to run out of food drive barrels during the holiday season and we encourage you to plan ahead should none be available for reservation. During the holiday season we generally limit each food drive to reserve up to 10 barrels and encourage you to plan ahead and have boxes or other types of collection receptacles on hand.
Can Three Square pick up food at the end of the drive?
Yes. We ask you to kindly consider delivering your donations if your food drive goals are less than 500 pounds. Bringing your donations to our warehouse is very helpful and saves us about $95 in fuel and labor costs. Your food drive registration form should be submitted no later than two weeks from the start of your food drive so we have adequate time to process your request. Once your food drive registration is submitted we will let you know what day we are able to pick up as well as a window of time.
Is there a minimum amount of food required for pick up?
No. However if your donation is less than 500 pounds (a backseat and car trunk’s full worth) then we ask you to kindly consider delivering your donation to Three Square. If you’d like to deliver donations, please make an appointment at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Our warehouse is open for deliveries Monday-Friday 7am-11:30am and 1pm-3pm as well as the third Saturday of the month between 9am-2pm. Saturday appointments must be made no less than 48 hours in advance.
What days do you pick up food drive donations?
We generally pick up food drive donations Tuesday-Friday, however Wednesdays are typically best for us and we tend to schedule most barrel delivery and donation pickups on Wednesdays. Our drivers' main priorities are our food rescue program and delivering food to agencies, so there’s always a possibility that your scheduled pick up date is changed.
Is Three Square able to help me promote my food drive?
Promotion is important to a successful food drive, so plan ahead and generate interest in your drive by creating flyers and posting them in high traffic areas with the appropriate permission. Send e-mails, set goals and put the information out there at least a week before your drive starts. We are happy to assist in your promotional efforts by listing your food drive as a drop site on our Facebook page. Information is posted at the discretion of Three Square staff and we cannot guarantee any listings. If your food drive is part of an event and you would like to submit it as an event for Three Square to promote on Facebook and our events calendar please submit your completed food drive registration form and an event description no later than two weeks from the start of your food drive. We do not guarantee any listings. We recommend utilizing social media outlets such as Twitter and Facebook to help with promotion. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter so we can assist you with those outlets.
What time can I expect my donations to be picked up on my scheduled pick up date?
It depends on the day and schedule of our drivers. Generally food drive donations are picked up between 10am-1pm. We cannot guarantee or commit to any specific time requests.
I have donations but did not hold a food drive. Can I still get my donations picked up?
