I visited my daughter Allie's class during career week, and I talked to them about what I do at Three Square. Mostly, I spoke about nutrition, but I also touched on how we provide food for folks who can't afford to buy it on their own.
On the morning of the last day of school, Allie and I arrived to where they line up to go inside. An older woman approached us and asked if I was Allie's mom. She then explained that two girls from Allie's class, Briley and Ava, had hosted a lemonade stand to raise money to feed hungry people in our community. The woman handed me an envelope with $12 they had raised. It was incredibly sweet! I was able to thank the girls and let them know that their donation will buy 36 meals. What a great way to start the day. The kids at Richard Bryan ES rock!
