Food Bank Distribution

The main two programs of Three Square are our Food Bank and Food Rescue Programs. Perishable food product is either delivered directly to an Agency Partner’s facility or is brought back to the food bank for distribution. All non-perishable products are sorted at the food bank, re-packaged if needed, and then put into our warehouse or on the shelves of the Agency Store.  Together, approximately 90% of all food and grocery product distributed by Three Square is through our Food Bank and Food Rescue Programs.

Food Bank Program

Three Square’s campus includes over 70,000 square feet of warehouse space, more than 12,000 square feet of refrigerators and freezers and an Agency Store. Agency Partners select from an average of nearly 90 items on our online “Shopping List,” – updated each day – schedule a time to come by and the opportunity to visit our Agency Store at the time they pick up their order. In order to enable our Agency Partners the ability to receive larger quantities of food than their own transportation may allow, Three Square also has a Food Delivery Program.

Food Rescue Program

The Food Rescue Program enables our Agency Partners to provide their clients with perishable foods, such as fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy and bakery products that are close to code. Each weekday Three Square drivers in refrigerated trucks visit local grocery and retail stores to pick up those items. They are then delivered directly to an Agency Partner facility where the food is distributed within 24-48 hours or brought back to our warehouse for placement in the Agency Store.

Hunger Facts

Imagine your child’s classroom: thirty children, and fifteen of them are hungry.

55% of children in the Clark County School District are enrolled in free and reduced-price meal programs based on their family income. That’s over 170,000 kids facing hunger at home and coming to school unprepared to learn.
