The rise of food insecurity in Southern Nevada
Few, if any, communities have been more affected by the health and economic fallout of COVID-19 than Southern Nevada. With unemployment at an all-time high, food insecurity has soared to record levels.
- There are nearly 447,000 Southern Nevadans experiencing food insecurity.
- The number of food-insecure individuals we serve has gone from 1 in 8 to 1 in 5.
- 1 in 3 children now lives in a food-insecure home.
- 97% of the total food-insecure population in Nevada resides in Clark County.
