State of Play Hospitality

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, CJ Cloyes has spent the past 24 years mastering the art and science of hospitality. Cloyes humbly started his career as a barback at the Palms for the Nine Group, rising to become a Regional Director of Operations overseeing multi-state venues with over $25 million in P&L responsibility. His journey is fueled by a simple but powerful philosophy: “Hard work works.”

Cloyes’ career spans iconic brands like Palms Hotel, Buffalo Wild Wings, Holiday Inn Club Vacations, and Flight Club Darts. He has held titles including Training General Manager, Multi-Unit Manager, Local Marketing Manager, and Regional Manager of Food & Beverage, each role sharpening his ability to turn struggling venues into profitable powerhouses and build high-performing teams rooted in purpose and pride.

With a business degree and leadership seminar training under his belt, Cloyes blends strategic acumen with people-first values. He is known for launching innovative incentive programs, mentoring dozens of rising leaders, and creating memorable guest experiences that drive loyalty and revenue. Cloyes’ accolades include a nomination for General Manager of the Year, recognition from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Las Vegas, and a board seat with the State of Play Foundation.

Outside of work, he is a devoted husband of more than 13 years and a proud father of five children. His household is lively and full of love, shared with three dogs and three cats that keep things entertaining and grounded. Cloyes is a passionate volunteer with Three Square and an active member of the local car community, often participating in charity drives. Whether he is at the gym or fine-tuning his show car, he brings the same energy and precision to his personal passions as he does to his professional pursuits.

A true operator, mentor, and community advocate, Cloyes continues to elevate hospitality through operational excellence, team empowerment, and a relentless drive to create moments that matter.
