Three Square Food Bank Launches Annual ‘Bag Childhood Hunger’ Campaign in Effort to Feed Hungry Children

Every dollar donated April 1 - May 31 can provide up to six meals to children in need

LAS VEGAS, April 1, 2024 –Three Square Food Bank continues the fight against hunger with the return of its Bag Childhood Hunger Campaign on Monday, April 1. Donations made through Friday, May 31 will have double the impact, thanks to generous matching sponsors Nevada Gold Mines operated by Barrick, NV Energy Foundation, and Towbin Motorcars.

One in six children in Southern Nevada is living in a food-insecure household. A significant number of families still struggles to put food on their tables, resulting in tens of thousands of Clark County School District students continuing to rely on free or reduced-price meal programs.

“The sad reality is that many kids don’t have enough food to growth up healthy,” said Beth Martino, President and CEO, Three Square Food Bank. “Our Bag Childhood Hunger Campaign aims to fix this by making sure every hungry child in our community can get the food they need to thrive.”

The Bag Childhood Hunger Campaign provides valuable support to Three Square’s childhood nutrition programs, including Kids Cafe®, BackPack for Kids and Meet Up and Eat Up. These programs ensure that children receive wholesome, nutritious meals after school, over the weekends and during the summer months.

The campaign culminates with “Fashion for Three Square,” a special invitation-only event held in May, imagined and underwritten by the Bennett Family Foundation, where Three Square will thank its donors for their ongoing support.

Three Square is one step closer to ending childhood hunger thanks to the following presenting sponsors: Elaine P. Wynn & Family Foundation, Engaged Nation, Jill & Frank Fertitta, III, Teresa & Lorenzo Fertitta, Green Valley Grocery, Maria & Ted Quirk, Rachel Shiffrin & David Hirschfeld, Station Casinos, Stephen & Pamela Thorne Foundation, Terrance K & Elizabeth L Barry Foundation, The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, and Top Rank, Inc.
