Nevada's legislative landscape is shaping up now that the mid-term elections are done, and Congressional and State Legislative calendars are set. Three Square's advocacy efforts are already well underway, having released our legislative agenda in February 2018. Since then, we have been refining language, gathering a coalition of support for our priorities, and meeting with candidates to build a foundational understanding of our policy priorities.

Steve and Margie Wilkinson are Giving Society members who have experienced being on the front lines of hunger. For nearly 20 years, the couple not only donated their time volunteering at a local food pantry, but they also witnessed families and individuals struggling with hunger.

Since 2015, employees at Barclays have been helping Three Square Food Bank "fill the plate" for Hunger Action Month each September through their company food drive. Their contributions to our community increase year after year, totaling more than 27,500 pounds of food donated to the food bank. Assistant Vice President of Community Relations, DeAndre Esteen, shared with us how Barclays is making a difference in our community and why he and his colleagues continue to step up to fill the plate.

Tommy Bahama brought coastal flavors to a desert oasis in 2008. The restaurant has been a longtime partner and participant in the annual Las Vegas Restaurant Week — a 12-day culinary event dedicated to raising awareness for hunger and funds to support Three Square Food Bank's efforts to provide meals to Southern Nevadans in need. We reached out to Kevin Wantland, general manager of Tommy Bahama, to tell us more about his restaurant and why he and his team look forward to Restaurant Week.
